expecting a baby is just the beginning of expecting some of life’s most precious moments.
this set means a lot to me.
more than just the anticipation of meeting my 2nd nephew face-to-face real soon, it’s also the anticipation and pride in seeing how my sister Careen is about to step into a whole new chapter of life; and how she is taking it on like such a champ. juggling between running a business of her own, being a wife, mother to a toddler, managing full-day appointments, working late nights, everything else in between – she does it with so much grace and strength.
this is what inspires me about mothers.
i personally believe that God gives special grace and strength to mothers. i’m surrounded by so many amazing mothers; mothers who are constantly giving, sowing, loving, caring, and sacrificing. and ever since i became a mother myself, i can only say that i’ve got so much more to learn and i thank God for placing those mothers in my life to give me a glimpse of my possible future as a mom as long as i don’t stop loving, giving and sacrificing.
“it’s gonna be worth it.”
hope you enjoy this set as much as i did creating it.
can’t wait to meet you, lil’ dumpling <3
during this year’s chinese new year, i decided to open up slots to take some family portraits for people since cny is usually a time where families reunite from all over the world to celebrate this festive season together. one of the families i got the privilege to capture moments for belongs to a dear friend of mine, florrie and her beautiful family. our sons are just 3 months apart, and she makes the best baby friendly yoghurt ever! judah lovesss it!
i had lotsa fun shooting these photos, and i’ve got many more sets to share with you! till the next set, hope enjoy this one! :)
‘a day in the life of’ has always been something that i wanted to do, because i love how storytelling can be done through viewing a series of photos. no prepped poses, no styled shoots. just the subject doing his/her own thing, and with me just tagging along.
this is my first attempt at this project, and i’m so grateful my friends Adrian & Michelle said yes to the idea and allowed me to photograph their precious daughter, Valerie. the photographs below were taken from morning till afternoon, and it documents Val’s day from her waking moment all the way to her afternoon bath. i really enjoyed myself with this one! she was such a sweetheart to shoot and be around <3
fun fact: i shot this when i was 7 months pregnant! it took me a long time to finally develop this set due to the business of motherhood :’) lol. but yay finally, here it is!
